I’m an interdisciplinary experience design and research leader. I’m a maker of curious, thoughtful things from teams and systems to ideas and pixels.
About Me
I’m based in San Francisco and began my design journey some 20+ years ago on the opposite side of the globe. Fast forward to now and I’m a product, design, and researcher leader; founder; maker; mentor; and advisor.
I’ve committed my career to envisioning a better way of doing and building while keeping my feet on the ground. I’m dedicated to supporting and empowering people in their own creativity.
I’ve most recently spent my time at a nonprofit, ActBlue where I work closely with stellar teams that build and empower infrastructure for Democratic campaigns and progressive nonprofits.
As VP of Product Design and UX Research, I’ve grown both teams and set up a crit-based management culture. Together, we’ve put together the bones for a new design system, launched features that guide users in the moment, written a UX copy guide, and established UX Research as a tool for the entire organization.
At ActBlue, I’ve also served as interim VP of Product. I supported the team through transition and hiring, a road mapping methodology, and created tools for cross-functional input and collaboration.
Before ActBlue, I was at Earnest, where I led teams in creating products that saved students millions in student loans. As Head of Design and Research, I managed teams that worked on product, brand, and marketing. I also founded the company’s first UX research practice. Together we launched several products, supported the growth of the largest student loan refinancing product in the country, established a design system, wrote UX copy guides for multiple products, and rebranded our website.
And just before that, I co-founded Doughbies, an iconic San Francisco brand that delivered hand-crafted, freshly baked goods nationwide. As co-founder, and chief product and design officer I led our product, design, brand, and operations teams. I also established our grassroots research practice. Together we launched products that empowered inventory, scheduling, and boutique shopping experiences on custom web and iOS applications, and launched and successfully ran brand partnerships and marketing campaigns.
I spend time with startups and nonprofits to advise on user experience and research. I also serve as a mentor to support the growth and equal opportunities of careers. In other lives, I’ve been a founding designer at startups and agencies, worked at a Fortune 500, and studied Visual Communication Design.
Sometimes I share my reflections as a citizen, designer, and human. Other times I launch projects to learn more about people, culture, and ideas.
